On July 22, Tay Mo Lower Secondary School in Hanoi, in collaboration with GMaths Education Joint Stock Company, conducted an entrance-level assessment in English and Mathematics for incoming Grade 6 students. The assessment was attended by members of the school’s management board and representatives of GMaths Education.
Before the students entered the assessment rooms, Principal Doan Thi Thanh Huong offered them words of encouragement, explaining that they were among the first students to assess their abilities before registering for classes aligned with their individual aspirations, strengths, and academic abilities. She encouraged them: “Today, you have come to school with excitement and enthusiasm. There is no need to worry about anything. Just do your best based on what you know. This is an assessment conducted with the utmost honesty and integrity. Our teachers will use the results only to place you in classes that match your abilities, so that you can make the most of your strengths.” She also encouraged the students to approach the assessment with confidence and take their first steps into their new school environment with a serious and positive attitude.
On behalf of the school’s management board, the Principal wished all students a safe and successful assessment session!
The purpose of the assessment is to help teachers gain an understanding of students’ English and Mathematics proficiency and identify their current levels of knowledge, strengths, and areas for improvement before the start of the academic year. The results will serve as one of the criteria for placing students in classes that best match their actual abilities. This process will also help students better understand their own strengths and areas for development, enabling them to establish appropriate learning plans and achieve the best possible outcomes throughout the academic year.
